ENRIQUE SOLINAS was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on July 11, 1969. He holds a degree as Professor in Arts and Communication Sciences (CONSUDEC) and has a diploma as Bachelor of Arts (UCA). Since 1989 he collaborates with publications in Argentina and abroad, and is a member of two scholar research groups; one deals with Argentine and Latin American literature (CONICET) and the other works on Literature and Mysticism (SIPLET - ALALITE).

  He has published a book of short stories, "Death and its conversation" (2007) He is now finishing his second book of short stories, Birds of Paradise, and plans to write a novel set in Shanghai, a city he admires and is eager to know.

  He has published six books of poems: Signos Oscuros (Dark Signs, 1995); El gru?ido (The Grunt, (1997); El Lugar del Principio (The spot for the Beginning, 1998); Jardín en movimiento (Garden in Motion, 2003); Noche de San Juan (Night of San Juan, 2008); El gru?ido y otros poemas (The growl and other Poems, 2011). He is a co-author of "Invocations -four poets in the voice of myth" (2012).

  He has been awarded several distinctions and prizes. Among others he obtained the Rotary Club Award Biennium 1990/1991 [first prize], the Biennial [1992/1993] National Prize from the Ministry of Culture of Argentina for novel young writers, the 1993 Award from Buenos Aires Municipal Library [first prize, 1993], an honour diploma from the City of Buenos Aires Municipal Awards [devoted to 1994 and '95 poetry production], the National Grant from 'Antorchas' foundation [1997 nation wide contest], National Award for Young Writers [2000] from the national Ministry of Culture, the "Ciudad de Arena" short story award [first prize 2004] from Ciudad de Arena foundation together with the city of Buenos Aires Ministry of Culture [first prize 2007], an honour diploma at the "Dorian" literary 2007 competition [Perú] for the promotion of diversity and culture.

  Many of his poems and stories have been included in national and international anthologies and compilations. He?s been translated into English, Italian, French, Portuguese and Greek.

  He was officially invited as a poet to the 2nd International Poetry Festival of Buenos Aires International Book Fair [2007], the 1st International Festival of Poetry at Centro Cultural de la Cooperación [2009], the 9th International Festival of Poetry in Granada, Nicaragua [2013], the 4th Lima International Festival of Latin American poetry, Perú [2013] and Washington International Festival of Latin Amercian Poetry "La Pluma y la Palabra" 2014.

  Currently, his activities include storytelling, arts journalism, literary and visual arts criticism, and literary research.

  He's a consultant to the catalogue of "Ruinas Circulares", an independent publishing house. There he also directs their collection of editorial reviews. He has compiled and produced author anthologies and collective poetry anthologies for various publishers of Argentina.
